SYNOPSIS:

Restorative esthetic dentistry and dental materials are evolving constantly and have recently undergone exciting advancements. Today, novel adhesive systems, resin cements, esthetic CAD/CAM and digital technologies are on the forefront in dentistry. In this course, participants will gain knowledge on indications, limitations, applicable and relevant new technologies, materials, and techniques. It will be an opportunity to learn in an intimate environment from renowned USC faculty in restorative dentistry as they present the latest and adhesive dentistry and materials selection.

  • Rationale for selection of CAD/CAM materials, fiber posts, adhesive systems, nanofilled composite
    resins, ceramics, and novel ceramic reinforced polymers for esthetic applications including materials classification and indication for use.
  • Rational for selecting various adhesive protocols.
  • Current advantages and limitations of modern multimode adhesives.
  • Causes and treatment of post-operative sensitivity.
  • Novel concepts for management of caries disease.
  • Review of digital technologies: indications and limitations.
  • Zirconia restorations.
  • Materials for implant guided surgery.
  • CAD/CAM materials for implant dentistry.
  • Digital workflow for removable prosthodontics.

UPON COMPLETION YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:

  • Employ preventive and minimally invasive esthetic restorative techniques to ensure long-term success.
  • Select the appropriate restorative systems in a variety of clinical applications.
  • Select the proper adhesive material and restorative system required to deliver the various direct and
    indirect restorations.
  • Employ custom-tailored techniques for esthetic anterior restorations and smile enhancement.
  • Understand the use of digital technology for removable prosthodontics.
